Everyone seems to agree that this is the year to buy a 4K television, so for anyone who’s been saving to make a big purchase this Black Friday, good news is heading your way. Inside sources say they expect retailers to drop prices and offer deep discounts on many electronics, TVs included, once again.

Top televisions now are LED and 4K from brands like Samsung, LG and Sharp, which are usually the ones to sell first and fast. Vizio and Seiki are also two other popular television brands in 2016 that will probably feature best prices from retailers the likes of Target and Best Buy.
In 2015
One of last year’s best deals was the Vizio 60-inch M-Series 4K television sold for just $799, tempting many to upgrade to the ultra high definition range. If a 4K TV is however out of your price range right now, there are still plenty of options left. Black Friday TV deals come for all resolutions and screen-size categories. In 2015, you could get a no-name 32-inch LED LCD set for $75 from Amazon and the LG 43-inch 1080p 60Hz for $284.99 from Newegg.
One thing to keep in mind if you’re planning to make the move to a better television is that really good offers, the cheapest televisions that are actually worth buying go fast and are usually subject to limited availability. Amazon’s 50” 1080p HDTV sold out instantly last year. At $150, this was the doorbuster of doorbosters in 2015 at Amazon.
If you miss a good deal during Black Friday week or you don’t find something to fit your budget even with all the offers or you don’t find something to your liking, keep an eye out for Cyber Monday discounts when retailers will again roll good prices.
The retailers that offered top television deals last year were Best Buy, Amazon, Walmart, Target, Dell.com, Sam’s Club, Newegg, Samsung.com, Sears, BJ’s and HH Gregg.
What you can expect in 2016
There will probably be many offers for lesser-known brands during Black Friday this year. Expect to see promotions for Westinghouse, Magnavox and RCA televisions. Walmart, Target and Kohl’s may feature tempting prices for any of these brands and/or other off-brand TVs.
Target, Walmart and Best Buy will definitely be among the retailers to roll television deals both online and in stores and customers can anticipate 1080p HDTVs in the 50 to 60 inch screen size category to sell for as low as under $200.
There should also be a good pick of 4k Ultra HDTVs at deals under $500 most likely to come from Target and Walmart. Customers should expect to pay $600 to $650 for name brand 60-inch UHD sets and even more aggressive deals should be available for smaller size 4K models.
For those interested in bigger screens 1080p television sets: deals should include prices even below $600, brands possibly pushing for lower prices than in 2015. This means major brands 1080p TVs in the 70-inch size category could sell for as low as $800 this year.
